Evander Holyfield Speaks On his Views On Gays and gets Shut Down

Evander Holyfield was discussing about gay boxing coming out and here’s what he had to say about it.

“What would be good about it? If you were born and your leg was turned this way, then you’d go to the doctor and get it fixed back, right? It is a choice. Come on, that ain’t the way nobody is made… You ain’t gay unless you sleeping with the opposite sex. ”

Of course he got backlash and despite him saying that he wasn’t judging but giving his opinion, the producers reminded him that he has freedom of speech as long as he doesn’t speak on gay..

He later apologize
“I was telling one person my view. I do owe an apology for what I said because I really wasn’t talking and really wasn’t trying to talk about somebody, because I don’t talk about nobody.  She asked me something and I thought I was sharing with her my view personally, and I forgot about everything.  So I am going to make a public apology about that because I am sorry for anybody I offended in that situation. All I’m trying to tell you, you know how handicap people are born… You can’t say because they are born that way you can’t move that.”

What’s your take on it? He remained respectful just spoke about his views….that being gay wasn’t something you were born with but rather a choice.
